2-0 NBA picks last week!

Last week, the NBATopPicks team picked the Warriors to knock off the sinking Clippers and the New Orleans/Phoenix game to go Under. After going 2-0, we return this week with another hefty card including a college basketball play and an NBA pick.

As usual, anyone can get our Top Play, but to get this full card of winners you must be a member of our sponsor, GoSportsBet. It’s free to join and no deposit is required! Get the Top Free Picks on the internet by going to http://www.gosportsbet.com/free_picks/

We can’t fathom why the linesmakers have made the utterly terrible New Orleans just a one half-point underdog against the Knicks tonight. People, let’s be honest; the Hornets are one of the coldest teams in NBA right now. They’re in a six- game losing streak and 4-8-1 ATS their last 13. Moreover, this team got guys who are fatigued or banged up. Chris Paul is not healthy after having a stress reaction in his left foot and a tired frontcourt will keep struggling.

New York isn’t great, by any stretch, but they’ve beaten some solid teams. Eddy Curry should rampage down low, and the backcourt duo of Marbury and Francis will see some serious minutes against a Hornets team that really lacks a post presence. We’re not normally Knicks bettors, but any time you can lay only three points or less against the Hornets at this time, do it. Trust us, you’ll make money.

Play New York Knicks (-1.5)

As you know, we tend to be cautious laying a heavy number, and it’s no question of the Phoenix Suns favored big against New Orleans Friday night. We don’t like playing side on this game but do like play under! The Suns have averaged only 101.8 points in regulation over their last five games, getting held below 48% shooting in four of them. Four of their last five games went under, and the last game against Charlotte went over just because they played overtime.

It will be hard to see the Sun’s high-scoring game against the Hornets, who hold opponents to 95.5 points per game and 44.7% shooting to rank among the Western Conference leaders in both categories. It has been low-scoring affairs in the meetings between those two teams, eight of the last nine matchups went under.

Last week our pick on the Milwaukee Bucks as the road underdogs hit but it’s the right time to fade them when they play at Toronto on Friday night.

Most days have been good ones shooting-wise for the Raptors at home, as they lead the East at 47.9% from the field. They’ve shot 50% or better in 11 home games, and ha ve won 9 of their last 10 (6-3-1 ATS) at the Air Canada Centre, shooting 50.9% in those contests. That’s not good news for the Bucks, who have the second-worst road field goal percentage defense at 48.4.

Toronto’s dynamic frontcourt duo continues to amaze. Andrea Bargnani is averaging 15.8 points in his last nine games, connecting on 50.9% of his 3-pointers during that span. Chris Bosh is looking to bounce back against a Milwaukee team that has struggled to stop him. He has 56 points on 23-of-32 shooting (72%) and 23 rebounds in the two matchups, and tied a career high with six blocks in the January meeting.

Toronto already blew Milwaukee out twice this season and we expect something similar tonight.

February 23rd NBA Plays

We love the Milwaukee Bucks against the New York Knicks tonight. The Bucks are coming off an overtime loss at Indiana on Wednesday. This won’t be the negative factor for the team at all because Michael Redd, who played in his second game after missing 20 due to the injury, scored 38 points for the Bucks, which came back from an 18-point deficit in the first half.

The Bucks are 3-21 last 24 games but this is NOT the Bucks team that struggled without Redd. His return motivated the guys to play hard and believe in the team. One thing he is also going to do is tell the team to bounce back from losses. Tonight’s game also fits into a perfect system: The Bucks have won five of their last seven meetings with the Knicks and three of five at Madison Square Garden.

Also, we are aware of this fishy line. The Knicks are favored just because they have won a couple of last home games against the mediocre teams.

- Play Milwaukee Bucks, ATS.

We love situations where bookies put too much value on a home team. That’s what they’ve done this week with the San Antonio Spurs, listing them as 14 point favorites against the Memphis Grizzlies. Spurs are hot, to be sure, but we think that taking points with Memphis is never a bad thing.

Although the Grizzlies have been struggling on the road (3-19 SU), they are 6-1 ATS as 10 or more underdogs this season. We expect them to keep this one close right until the very end. Pau Gasol and Mike Miller match up well offensively with San Antonio, and the team comes into this game on a high note after beating Utah in overtime on Wednesday.

San Antonio, meanwhile, doesn’t look like they are the dominant force in the Western Conference any more. In their last game against Houston Wednesday, Tim Duncan had 37 points but the rest of the team shot just 36.7 percent from the field. Spurs fell to 1-5 ATS in their last six, and 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 contests at home. Also, Memphis is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 in this series. 14 is way too much for the Spurs to cover. Take the “dog” on this one for the best value.

Play Memphis Grizzlies, ATS.

Another Perfect Weekend!!

YET AGAIN, another perfect week – if you’ve been paying attention, we’re on quite a tear in January. If you listened to us, you’d have known that the Patriots were underrated, and banged them. We also predicted that the Miami Heat would go to town on the pitiful Golden State Warriors, which they did, winning by 22 points and giving you great value.

We’re liking the Toronto Raptors, who have won six of their last eight, against the Utah Jazz Friday night. These Raptors are 8-1 ATS in their last nine games, and have played extremely well at home this season, where they’re 12-5 ATS. Toronto’s defense has impressed a lot of people these days, holding their opponents just 86.2 points per game in the last five contests.

Toronto is catching Utah at the right time. The Jazz had lost five of six before snapping a four-game skid with a 100-99 win over Detroit on Wednesday. Their defense has struggled giving 112.4 points per game in their last five games.

Chris Bosh has been playing great since he came back from injury at the beginning of this year, and we predict he’ll have a big night against the Jazz.

- Play Toronto Raptors, ATS.

Perfect Weekend, NFL run now 10-2

We went a perfect 2-0 last week, as our NFL playoff picks got off to a great start (Dallas covering on the road at Seattle) and the red hot Phoenix Suns Covering a 19 point spread against the Miami Heat without D-Wade. We bring you another tasty serving of free plays on NBA and NFL.

The Miami Heat head into Golden State on Friday night to take on the Warriors. The Heat lost 5 in a row (both SU and ATS) since Dwyane Wade injured his wrist early in the game in Chicago on Dec. 27. Wade returned on Sunday and they have won two. Wade is now averaging 31.8 points in his last eight games that he has played more than six minutes, and Miami has won seven of those contests. Moreover, longawaited Shaquille O’Neal may come back to play this game. Antoine Walker and James Posey will also be available.

Golden State, on the other hand, have lost three of their last four games (0-4 ATS), allowing 116.8 points in those contests. Baron Davis had only 13 points on 4-of-14 shooting the last game against the Magic.

We’re looking for the Heat to bounce back in a big way as the road dog. Miami has dominated the series of late, winning 15 of the last 19 matchups, including the last two at Oracle Arena. Golden State has been plagued by Jason Richardson’s injury, and this will be a factor here, as no one on the Warriors will be able to keep up with the healthy Heat.

- Play Miami Heat, ATS.

Ready for NFL Playoffs? Hot streak continues!

It was a great week for football at TopSportsTips last weekend. The NFLTopPicks team has hit 4 in a row with the Packers’ victory against the Bears. This week we return with two strong plays on NBA and NFL to start 2007 off right.

As you know, we tend to be cautious laying a heavy number, but this situation appears solid for Suns fans, with Phoenix favored big against Miami. Shaq and Wade were both out when Phoenix beat Miami on Dec. 13 but this time around, the Heat have even bigger problems. Struggling Miami Heat are playing their 4th game without all-star guard Dwyane Wade who suffered a sprained wrist. Making matters worse, forwards Antoine Walker and James Posey were deactivated because their body fat levels are 1 percent over team orders.

On the other hand, Phoenix has been one of the strongest home teams this season, at 12-3. The Suns are on an four game win streak, and 13-1 against the Eastern Conference this season. We’re not convinced the Heat will make a game of this, particularly since they’ve been unable to hit the century mark in 4 consecutive games. Finally, the Heat have got to be demoralized heading into this one against the NBA’s highest-scoring team, whereas the Suns are back at their home court after winning all three on the road, and will come out pumped up, running and gunning.

- Play Phoenix Suns, ATS.

NFL Run now 8-2!!

Two weeks ago our NFL play with the Redskins as underdogs resulted in an upset win
against the home favorite Saints. The NFLTopPicks team is now 8-2-1 in the last ten weeks. As our TopPicks team has just come back from Christmas holidays, we have two big picks this weekend on the NBA and NFL.

The Washington Wizards finished November with a 5-9 record, while the Orlando Magic led the Southeast Division at 12-4. The month of December has been a turnaround for both teams, though, as the Magic are 5-9 while the Wizards have gone 11-3 to move percentage points ahead of Orlando for the division lead. These two teams have been heading in completely different directions.

The biggest reason for the Washington’s run has been the outstanding performance of Gilbert Arenas, who has scored 30 or more points in five of the past six games. Arenas is averaging 38.5 points and has made 19-of-35 from 3-point range (54.3%) during the Wizards’ four-game win streak. That stretch doesn’t even include his franchise-record 60-point effort in a win over the Lakers on Dec. 17.

The Wizards are averaging 118.5 points in their last 12, and are the third-highest scoring team in the league (107.8 PPG) behind Phoenix and Denver. Washington has won six of seven at the Verizon Center, and is 9-2 at home when scoring at least 100 points.

The Magic have lost three straight road games, averaging just 84 points. Orlando fell to the Lakers on Wednesday for its third straight loss and eighth in 11 games. Dwight Howard’s slump is the main factor for the Magic’s draught. He is averaging 13.1 points on 45.7 percent shooting in his last eight games. Howard averaged 18.1 points on 61% shooting in his first 22 games.

We’re predicting a blowout for the Wizards who will be hyped in revenge mode for the loss to Orland earlier this season.
Play Washington Wizards, ATS
