FREE PICK FOR FRIDAY AUGUST 6TH! BBOOKIE.NET

Houston Astros +115

Our first free pick several weeks back was an easy winner on the Atlanta Braves. Today we go with the Houston Astros +115. Wandy Rodriguez takes the mound for the Astros tonight and has been in perfect form as of late. Over his last 3 starts Wandy has an era of 2.14 and is 3-0. Meanwhile, David Bush enters tonights pitching matchup with a WHIP of 1.87 and an era of 7.80 over his last 3 starts. Also, Houston’s bullpen has an impressive 2.57 era in it’s available bullpen for tonight against a Brewer’s bullpen with an era of 8.31. Combine those two huge factors with the fact that Houston is hitting right handed pitching at .309 over their last 10 games and Milwaukee is hitting .188 against left handed pitching and we have ever statistical advantage for tonight. Play the Houston Astros for a big play tonight!!!

The importance of betting throughout the entire year

Since I began sports handicapping nearly 11 years ago many reasons have become apparent to me as to why the majority of sports bettors lose.  One reason proper sports betting is hard is because we as humans tend to let our emotions affect the games we bet and the amount we bet on each game from night to night.  Many bettors can win 10 nights in a row and after the 11th night they are actually down money because they went on tilt and couldn’t handle a losing night.  Hopefully, anyone reading this article has become aware of the fact that no matter which handicapper you use you will NEVER win every single night.  Losing is a part of the game.  Random variation is a part of everything in the universe and life.  Who wouldn’t have taken the Reds a few months back when they were up 7 runs going into the 9th against the Braves.  The Reds were the correct bet in the game.  However, the Braves scored 8 runs in the bottom of the 9th to win the game.  To put it simply: shit happens…

Over the next several months I will be discussing many of the key aspects that keep the majority of sports bettors from winning.  However, let me advise you before reading any further.  If you or your handicapper can’t pick above the 52.5 percent threshold that it takes to win then none of these articles will help you.  The only thing it will accomplish in that situation is to help you lose slightly less money.

The first aspect that I would like to discuss is seasonal betting.  Each year, many of my clients come on board for the NFL and NCAAF football season.  We go through the 5 month football season and many of my clients are calling me up informing me how pleased they are with the service.  “If only football season was longer!!”  I hear each year.

However, the truth that I try to inform them of is that although we do well in the NFL and NCAAF any good handicapper could not possibly make nearly the amount of money in football as one could in baseball or basketball.  Yes, I understand football is generally much more exciting to watch and bet.  However, as a serious sports bettor that is irrelevent.  The NFL and NCAAF seasons are around 5 months long including the playoffs.  Each team only plays 1 game per week and each team also has a bye week without a game.  In comparison, each team in MLB plays 152 games per year.  They also have a 7 month season and tend to play on average 5 days per week.

If I am a profitable handicapper (which I am) then my advantage is obviously in baseball for several reasons.  First off, since there are so many more games in MLB there will be more mistakes in the betting lines throughout the course of the year.  Also, betting lines in baseball tend to be less accurate because the majority of people don’t even bet baseball.  Did you know the only reason sportsbooks keep MLB lines is because they want you to play with them through football season???

Let’s do a quick analogy.  Let’s say you bet 3 games in NCAAF on Saturday and 3 more games in the NFL on Sunday.  That is a total of 6 games per week.  An average MLB week will have 3 plays per day which equals a total of 21 games per week.  Now, since the regular season football schedule is 17 weeks long we do the math:

17 (number of weeks in football season) x 6 (average number of plays per week) =  102 total games

now let’s look at the average number of MLB games per season

24 (number of weeks in MLB season) x 21 (average number of plays per week) =  504 total games

As demonstrated by the math above, we have almost 5 times the number of plays each year in MLB than in the NFL and NCAAF combined!!!  Any reasonably intelligent individual would then understand that if a handicapper can truly profit then his obvious advantage would be in the MLB season when he has 5 times the number of plays to exploit his advantage against the books.

Most handicappers only promote football season because they know uneducated bettors will begin depositing money into their offshore betting accounts in hopes of finding a winner.  What must be understood is that the majority of cappers do not care about winning to any extent, only that they take money from you and sell you picks they themselves would never bet.

If you really want to make serious money in sports betting get onboard for the 2nd half of the MLB season.  It’s not too late to have a great MLB season and build your bankroll or simply take that extra vacation to Hawaii this year by simply placing a few bets each morning with a trusted handicapper.

Aloha!!!

Both the Los Angeles Angels and the St. Louis Cardinals have been swinging good lumber in recent weeks, and the fact that both teams got held up last game does not eliminate the overriding trend in this situation. Bartolo Colon vs. Kip Wells is the kind of pitching matchup that hitters on each team dream about. These two pitchers allowed combined 24 runs in their last two starts. On the road, Colon has put up ugly numbers – his ERA is 6.85 this season. The Over is a solid 6-2 in his eight starts. Wells has been mostly the “fade” guy this season, 2-10 with a 6.40 ERA in 12 starts. If the Angels don’t get to Wells, they may as well “pack it in”. Take all these facts, and combine them with two teams each hitting very well in their recent games. They are bound to score some big time run totals.

We’re as excited as you are for Game 3 of the Jazz / Warriors series, and we recommend a play on the Under on this game. The first two games have gone Over and the total line has been up to 217, but the Warriors know if they want to keep these games close they need to do a better job on defense and rebounding, and similarly, the Jazz will be in full lockdown mode on Baron Davis, as they realize he is the key to the Warriors’ hopes. In the first round playoffs against Dallas, the Warriors have played great defense at home, holding the Mavs to just 92 points per contest on 40% shooting. The Under has gone 3-1 in the regular season matchups between these teams. We all know what a great defensive team the Jazz are. They controlled the boards in the first two games, winning that battle 114-68. The Jazz have controlled the boards of late even against Houston winning that battle eventually helped Boozer and team finish off the Rockets in the first round. Both teams will play well on the D, so expect a low scoring game here.

Play Under 217 (Golden State Warriors / Utah Jazz).

After weekend of a couple of winners, we’re back in action with another stacked card for you. Last weekend, we cashed our NHL total, picking the Under in Game 2 of the Vancouver / Anaheim series, and we banged our baseball side as well, taking the Chicago Cubs against St. Louis.

This will be it for the Raptors when they visit New Jersey Friday night. In game 5, the Raptors led by as many as 17 points in the second half but they almost blew it. There is no way they can step up and tie the series, or even cover the spread. Now that the Raptors’ two point guards are hurt, they will all have to rely on Chris Bosh, but it’s so tough for Bosh to carry this team down the stretch. The Nets defense has done a great job of hassling Toronto’s players and Bosh just hasn’t been able to get it going. He has scored only a combined 35 points in the last three games.

New Jersey’s veteran leadership has come to the forefront in this series against the inexperienced Raptors. Jason Kidd, Vince Carter, and Richard Jefferson have all played their roles perfectly and have frustrated Toronto in the process. Nets are just to dominate agianst the Raptors at home. We wouldn’t be shocked if the Nets win by 20.

April 27th Free MLB/NHL Picks

Two unlucky losses last week have us thankful that this week’s card presents some strong rebound opportunities and a high potential for successful investments this weekend. We’re back this week with strong NHL and MLB plays.

Top Play:

Heading now to the diamond, we’ll take the Chicago Cubs against the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday. Anthony Reyes, the Cardinals’ starter, is off to a poor start, with a 5.63 ERA in 3 outings. Not the kind of player we want to back. He is 0-3 lifetime with a 5.14 ERA in two starts and a relief appearance against the Cubs. Jason Marquis, on the other hand, looked good in his last two starts, allowing just a run in 13 innings. We love that he is 2-0 with a admirable 1.20 ERA against St. Louis for his career. This is the same pitching match-up as last Saturday and the Marquis’ Cubs beat the Cardinals outright. Although this time is the home game for St. Louis, we expect their offense will struggle against formar Cardinal, Marquis, who should feel like pitching in his home field back in St. Louis.

Play Chicago Cubs, Moneyline.

Rivalry Weekend

This week we focus on rivalry matchups on MLB and NBA. There should be some great games this weekend as the Yankees are in Boston to face the Red Sox, and NBA playoffs just start up.

As usual, anyone can get our Top Play, but to get this full card of winners you must be a member of our sponsor, GoSportsBet. It’s free to join and no deposit is required! Get the Top Free Picks on the internet by going to http://www.gosportsbet.com/free_picks/

This week in baseball action, we’re going to recommend an “under” play on the Yankees/Red Sox game. Curt Schilling is a major talent. After a tough opening day start, he has allowed just a run, eight hits, two walks in his last two outings. That’s a statistic you should be paying attention to. Schilling has been throwing well and getting people out by himself, as opposed to relying on his defense to make plays. The Yankees offence hit well agaist Cleveland but their bats can be easily cold against the league’s No.1 pitchers.

Andy Pettitte, on the other hand, we shouldn’t have to tell you about. He was on his games in his last two starts, and he’s reminded us of his stellar 2003 season. He has a 13-5 lifetime record and a 3.05 ERA against the Red Sox. The struggling Sox hitters will have another trouble against the leftie, and Pettitte should have a solid outing. We should be looking at a low scoring affair.

Play Under 9.5 (NY Yankees / Boston Red Sox)

April 13th Free MLB/NBA Picks

This week we take advantage of some key emotional matchups, as the NBA regular seasons head into their final few days. Stars will be sitting on some teams, other teams will be fighting for their lives, and we’ll be exploiting lines across NBA and MLB.

Top Play:

In NBA action, the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers are two of the highest-scoring teams in the league, and when they face off tonight, we will see another high-scoring game. The Suns have been outstanding at their home court lately: 125 against Denver, 126 against Dallas, and 109 against Seattle. Steve Nash will be looking to get the team’s offense in high gear for the playoffs. The Lakers defense is getting pathetic, allowing an average of 114.25 points per game in their last four. After losing to the Clippers last night, the tired Lakers have no way to keep up with the Suns’ run-and-gun style of offense. We like the Suns’ chances of putting up a big number against a Lakers team that cannot control the tempo against ANYONE. However, there is still a chance that Kobe Bryant will have another 50-point game against the weak Suns defense. Both teams shoot well from the free throw line, neither team defends well in the paint, and when you factor everything in, the case for the Over speaks loud and clear.

Play Los Angeles Lakers/ Phoenix Suns Over 219.5
