March 23rd NCAA/NBA Picks

After a tough weekend last week, where many plays just barely missed, we’re coming out swinging, and giving you one of our strongest cards in a while. This year’s NCAA tourney has been stock full of craziness, including Wisconsin falling last week to UNLV and Ohio State wiped out a 20-point deficit by outscoring Tennessee in the second half last night. We’re back to our winning ways this weekend, and we hope you’ll join us.

As usual, anyone can get our Top Play, but to get this full card of winners you must be a member of our sponsor, GoSportsBet. It’s free to join and no deposit is required! Get the Top Free Picks on the internet by going to http://www.gosportsbet.com/free_picks/

Check out USC. These guys are 25-11 SU, and 22-10 ATS. Why are they getting no respect against North Carolina here? The Pac-10 is much better than the ACC, and we’re not prepared to let this many points on a good team pass us by. UNC might win the game, but they’re not going to embarrass USC. North Carolina is 4-7 ATS in its last 11 and just 4-6 ATS in its last 10 away from its home court. Also, USC is 7-0 ATS as an underdog of more than 3.5 points this season and 12-2-1 ATS against teams with a winning percentage over .750.

UNC struggled so much against Michigan State last Saturday and it is a bad sign for the Heels because that was a game they should have dominated. USC, coming off a blowout win against Texas, can score a variety of ways and has enough athletes to play any style that UNC would like.

This one just comes down to value, folks. UNC = overvalued, USC = undervalued. This will be a very close game and we’d be shocked if USC didn’t pick up a cover here.

2-0 NBA picks last week!

Last week, the NBATopPicks team picked the Warriors to knock off the sinking Clippers and the New Orleans/Phoenix game to go Under. After going 2-0, we return this week with another hefty card including a college basketball play and an NBA pick.

We can’t fathom why the linesmakers have made the utterly terrible New Orleans just a one half-point underdog against the Knicks tonight. People, let’s be honest; the Hornets are one of the coldest teams in NBA right now. They’re in a six- game losing streak and 4-8-1 ATS their last 13. Moreover, this team got guys who are fatigued or banged up. Chris Paul is not healthy after having a stress reaction in his left foot and a tired frontcourt will keep struggling.

New York isn’t great, by any stretch, but they’ve beaten some solid teams. Eddy Curry should rampage down low, and the backcourt duo of Marbury and Francis will see some serious minutes against a Hornets team that really lacks a post presence. We’re not normally Knicks bettors, but any time you can lay only three points or less against the Hornets at this time, do it. Trust us, you’ll make money.

As you know, we tend to be cautious laying a heavy number, and it’s no question of the Phoenix Suns favored big against New Orleans Friday night. We don’t like playing side on this game but do like play under! The Suns have averaged only 101.8 points in regulation over their last five games, getting held below 48% shooting in four of them. Four of their last five games went under, and the last game against Charlotte went over just because they played overtime.

It will be hard to see the Sun’s high-scoring game against the Hornets, who hold opponents to 95.5 points per game and 44.7% shooting to rank among the Western Conference leaders in both categories. It has been low-scoring affairs in the meetings between those two teams, eight of the last nine matchups went under.

Last week our pick on the Milwaukee Bucks as the road underdogs hit but it’s the right time to fade them when they play at Toronto on Friday night.

Most days have been good ones shooting-wise for the Raptors at home, as they lead the East at 47.9% from the field. They’ve shot 50% or better in 11 home games, and ha ve won 9 of their last 10 (6-3-1 ATS) at the Air Canada Centre, shooting 50.9% in those contests. That’s not good news for the Bucks, who have the second-worst road field goal percentage defense at 48.4.

Toronto’s dynamic frontcourt duo continues to amaze. Andrea Bargnani is averaging 15.8 points in his last nine games, connecting on 50.9% of his 3-pointers during that span. Chris Bosh is looking to bounce back against a Milwaukee team that has struggled to stop him. He has 56 points on 23-of-32 shooting (72%) and 23 rebounds in the two matchups, and tied a career high with six blocks in the January meeting.

Toronto already blew Milwaukee out twice this season and we expect something similar tonight.
